Bernardo Hay Neapolitan Genre Oil Painting of Young Woman on canvas in frame. These early genre portraits were of real people, most notably Francesco Spardaro (II Spardo the old fisherman of Capri). This young lady has been identified as Carmanella or perhaps Carmelina. At least three portraits of her by Hay are known.
